NEPAL JOURNEY STANDARD
The classic Khumbu trek to the foot of Mount Everest, with Namche Bazaar, Tengboche monastery and the Kala Patthar viewpoint along the way.
IS THIS TRIP RIGHT FOR YOU?
A considered Himalayan journey for trekkers who want strong acclimatisation, clear logistics and support shaped around the route.
THE ROUTE
The Everest Base Camp Trek is a 14-day high-altitude teahouse trek in Nepal that reaches 5,545 m. Kailasa grades it Moderate to Difficult. The best time to go is March – May & September – November.
The Everest Base Camp trek follows the Dudh Koshi valley into the heart of the Khumbu, the home of the Sherpa people and the highest mountains on Earth. Over two weeks the trail climbs steadily from the airstrip at Lukla to Everest Base Camp (5,364 m) and the Kala Patthar viewpoint (5,545 m).
The route passes through Namche Bazaar, the main trading village of the Khumbu, and the monastery at Tengboche, with views of Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Nuptse and Everest itself. Rest days at Namche and Dingboche are built in so that your body has time to adjust to the altitude.
This is a teahouse trek: you sleep in mountain lodges and walk with a light day pack while porters carry your luggage. It is long and cold at the top, so previous multi-day trekking experience and good fitness make a real difference.

BEFORE YOU ENQUIRE
It is a moderate to difficult trek. The walking days are not technical, but the altitude, the cold and the number of consecutive days make it demanding. Good fitness and previous multi-day trekking experience are strongly recommended.
Everest Base Camp is at about 5,364 m. Kala Patthar (5,545 m) is the highest point reached on this itinerary.
March to May and September to November offer the most stable weather and clearest views. December to February is very cold at altitude and the monsoon months of June to August bring cloud and rain.
Altitude sickness can affect anyone above about 3,000 m. The itinerary includes acclimatisation days at Namche Bazaar and Dingboche, and your guide monitors the group daily. Tell your guide about any symptoms straight away and do not climb higher while unwell.
Yes. You need travel and rescue insurance that covers trekking above 5,000 m and helicopter evacuation.
